By investing effectively every single Euro, we put our commitment into practice and we ensure competitiveness and innovation in oncological research taking place in Italy.
The diffused nature of the actions undertaken, along with the involvement of all sections of the community, ensures a constant fundraising inflow, which is vital to our mission.

efficiency index
This indicator expresses the quota of collection expenditure per each euro received. In 2022, only 15 cents out of each euro donated were used for the organisation of the various fundraising initiatives.
Relationship
with people
Without people, AIRC would not exist. It’s our supporters that allow us every day to carry out our mission to make cancer ever more treatable.
This is why we want to be close to people who believe in research. All fundraising and awareness initiatives tell what links our work to the commitment of those who believe in us.
Our national fundraising campaigns in the streets
With Arance della Salute, Azalea della Ricerca and Cioccolatini della Ricerca, Italy shows its best: over 25,000 volunteers take to streets every year to support scientific research.
After all the challenges the 2020 pandemic brought along, in 2022 our volunteers came back with their stands. We achieved extraordinary results and our volunteers, under the coordination of AIRC Regional Committees, distributed all the products that had been ordered.
Locally
In 2022, too, our Committees faced successfully the difficulties that arose from the anti-contagion policies, showing proactiveness and resilience, organizing lotteries and other events that would not require gathering in large groups.
The support of the Community
Thanks to the opportunities provided for by the Budget Law, hundreds of thousands of people have decided to support cancer research since 2006, by donating a 5 per thousand share of their yearly income taxes to AIRC.
Companies
Every day there are more and more companies that choose to take a stand in support of scientific research, attentive to their employees and customers’ health and wellbeing.
In 2022, too, many business and private realities, big and small, decided to stand with AIRC, to contribute to the progress of scientific research and to the mass communication of scientific topics, and the promotion of the culture of prevention and healthy lifestyles.
